Do I really need professionals?
Most campaigns are multi-million dollar operations – a business with millions of dollars flowing through wouldn’t leave it to a volunteer and neither should you! Having one company managing all of your financial transactions and back of the house operations helps ensure that everything is reported properly. Compliance is more than just reporting numbers. There are rules around communications, what money you can accept, what you are allowed to spend, and best practices around managing your money.
Why not keep it in-house?
Most campaigns can’t afford to dedicate enough staff to truly separate financial functions to the FEC’s standards. We bring years of experience and information to each client making the compliance and operations smoother and more efficient, helping avoid common mistakes and pitfalls.
I want to know our financial position every day – will I be comfortable outsourcing?
Transparency for our clients is crucial, which is why we use accounting software our clients can access. We send weekly financial reports and updated budgets, weekly or monthly, depending on your needs. Generally, close to the end of a reporting period or an election, clients will receive daily financial updates. Clients receive monthly bank statements and reconciliations and review all FEC filings prior to filing. We keep client data on a secure cloud server and our internal procedures adhere to the FEC’s safe harbor requirements.
How much do you cost?
CCA can tailor services and fees for a committee from consulting/advice to full service. We charge a flat fee, based on the services you need and the size of your committee. We don’t bill hourly, because communication is so important for things to run smoothly – we never want you to hesitate to pick up the phone. Our fees do not include the cost of NGP (or other reporting software), payroll services (like ADP or Paychex), or accounting software (QuickBooks Online).
Will you serve as Treasurer?
We are happy to assume the legal liability of Treasurer for full-service clients.
